Engineering

The Construction Engineering Technology pathway is a "2+2" program that allows TAMS students interested in construction engineering to complete two years at TAMS and then remain at UNT for two years to complete a baccalaureate degree. TAMS students who choose this pathway are NOT obligated to remain at UNT to complete their degree; students may simply complete the TAMS program and then move on to their next educational institution. Students who complete Calculus II or higher the second semester of their first year are not required to enroll in mathematics courses during the second year.

Students may elect to change pathways ONCE at the end of their first semester but before the first day of class of the second semester. This excludes the Music track as the College of Music requires a student to audition during the TAMS admissions process. Changing tracks may require students to complete Summer courses between their first year and second year at TAMS in order to "catch up" with the requirements of the new pathway curriculum. Students considering a change in pathway MUST meet with their Academic Counselor and MUST receive approval before enrolling in courses for their second semester.

*Students who place into MATH 1650 Precalculus their first semester at TAMS are encouraged to take MATH 1720 Calculus II during the Summer between Year One and Year Two. Students can elect to take MATH 1720 during Fall 2, but this may create complications when scheduling required Fall 2 courses. A student's Academic Counselor will provide advice and assistance.

Master of Science Grad Track Option Available.

Completion of 9 hours of grad track during bachelor's degree plan results in 21-24 hours to earn a master's degree.

The Electrical Engineering pathway is a "2+2" program that allows TAMS students interested in electrical engineering to complete two years at TAMS and then remain at UNT for two years to complete a baccalaureate degree. TAMS students who choose this pathway are NOT obligated to remain at UNT to complete their degree; students may simply complete the TAMS program and then move on to their next educational institution.
