Tuition and Tuition Related Fees

Tuition and tuition related fees are assessed to every University student at UNT depending on the classes they are taking for the semester. Estimates are based on a 17-hour class load for fall and spring. Actual costs will depend on the enrolled course schedule and can be viewed by the student on their myUNT account after the student is enrolled for the semester. For fall, the charges typically appear in July preceding the fall. For spring, the charges typically appear in November preceding the spring. The links below provide detailed information about UNT fees.

UNT Explanation of Fees

UNT Tuition and Fees Information

TAMS students are taking UNT classes and these costs are directly assessed and applied at the same rates for all UNT students depending on the class schedule of the student. TAMS does not adjust or change the rates/fees/costs. Any changes are the result of a change in the student's classes.

Room and Board (Housing and Dining)

TAMS students are required to live in McConnell Hall on campus. Dining plans are required by UNT for all students living on campus. The rates are set by UNT housing, 2024-2025 rates are currently subject to board approval.

Completing the Housing Application

Students must fill out a Housing application online each year at the Housing site. Applications should be complete before room assignments can be made. Housing will post/apply the fall charges to the student’s account a few weeks before classes in the fall semester (August), and the spring charges a few weeks before school begins in the spring semester (January).

First-year students may begin filling out their Housing Application after they have been admitted to TAMS. TAMS Admissions will notify them and send their "EUID." Using Housing Application portal link above for "e-housing," click on "Create my Account" in the green column on the left.

Payment of $400 is due on housing site within ten days of completion of the application. $350 will go towards room and board payment in the fall and the remaining $50 is a non-refundable administrative processing fee for Housing. If payment is not made within ten days of application completion, a new application must be submitted.

Second-year (returning students to TAMS) may begin their Housing Application in January for the following academic year (For example, January 2024 for Fall 2024/Spring 2025). In "e-housing (portal)," click on "Apply Now" in the green column on the left. The application must be filled out before room assignments are made in the summer.

Payment of $350 is due on housing website within ten days of application completion. $350 will go towards room and board payment in the fall.

Dining Plans

UNT requires all students living on campus in a housing unit to have a dining plan. The dining plan is a part of the Room and Board charges and is elected during the completion of the housing application. There are two options: Everyday/7-day plan and Weekday/5-day plan. The estimate uses the 7-day plan cost. For additional information about the dining plans: 2024-2025 Housing & Dining Rates.

The dining plan selected applies to the entire academic year (spring and fall semesters). A student interested in changing their plan after the application will need to request the change from UNT housing directly by emailing housinginfo@unt.edu providing their 8-digit student ID#, full name, and request of change.

TAMS Program Charge (non-refundable)

The program charge helps cover additional costs due to the unique needs and services in the TAMS program. For example: TAMS only dedicated psychology team, academic advisors, transportation, college application advisor, and other dedicated team members specifically to assist TAMS students. The current charge is $2500 annually, the amount will remain unchanged for both years in TAMS. The TAMS Program Charge is non-refundable and due in full during the Fall semester.

Student Activities Charge

Each student is required to pay $100 per year. The student activities charge is used for the funding of all the organizations and activities sponsored by TAMS Student Activities. For example: portions of the charge are used to subsidize fall and spring orientation, Family Weekend, Prom and After Prom, Rose cutting and Student Life Awards, weekend trips, student conferences, and countless other activities.
