Summer Orientation Basics

TAMS Summer Orientation is for students and parents. If you have been selected for TAMS, as a student you are required to attend. Summer Orientation takes place on June 5 and 6, 2026 on the University of North Texas campus. Check-in begins at 6 pm in McConnell Hall on Friday, June 5 (parents/guests check-in at 6 PM in the Union). It will be an informative and fun time! We’ll keep you busy until about 5:30 PM on Saturday, June 6.

  • Registration — Register here for TAMS Summer Orientation by May 24th, 2026. You may review your Summer Orientation registration through the confirmation sent to your email. Charges for your registration will be applied to the student’s UNT account by May 29th and will be due by June 5th.
  • Changes — If you need to alter or edit your registration, a link to do so will be provided in the reservation confirmation sent to your email. Editing will be open until 11:59 PM on May 24th, after which time your registrations will be finalized, and your student’s UNT Student Account will be charged for Summer Orientation. Please keep in mind that NO REFUNDS will be given after 11:59 PM on May 24th and payment is due in full on June 5th.
  • Meals — NO evening meals are provided on Friday or Saturday, so please plan accordingly. Visit www.discoverdenton.com to find some great local spots. There will be some snacks provided for both students and parents, but not enough to count as a meal.
  • Check-in — Student check-in begins at 6 PM at McConnell Hall, 1705 W. Sycamore St., Denton, TX 76201. Parents/guests check-in at the Union begins at 6 PM. Students are required to spend the night in McConnell Hall. Parents/guests may commute or arrange their overnight lodging below.
