Rachel Ward serves as one of the Hall Directors for the Texas Academy of Math and Science (TAMS) program at the University of North Texas (UNT). With a diverse background and a passion for student development, Rachel brings a unique perspective to her role.
Born and raised in Louisiana, Rachel's journey has taken her from Denton to China and back again. She is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University, a mother of two, and a real team player. During her decade overseas, Rachel gained valuable experience in various professional fields, enriching her understanding of global perspectives and cultural diversity. Now that Rachel is back in Denton, she is working to bring the skills and experience she has garnered to enrich the TAMS student life program and build on the work and legacies of the fine professionals who have come before her.
Rachel and her family are back in the United States, residing here in McConnell Hall, and excited to contribute to the vibrant community of UNT's TAMS program. Rachel and her husband Josh are committed to student success and community engagement. As Hall Director at TAMS,she is using her creativity, experience, and skills to promote a nurturing environment where academically talented students can thrive. Rachel hopes her leadership is characterized by a dedication to fostering personal growth, academic achievement, and a sense of belonging among students.
