TAMS Named Scholarships

TAMS Named Scholarships (Fall semester- $ varies)

TAMS Named Scholarships are mainly merit based scholarships created from the generous giving of donors. Each scholarship has its own criteria and are competitive with limited awards given.

All TAMS Students

All TAMS students entering and returning are eligible to apply for the following named scholarships. Incoming TAMS students must have returned their LOI prior to the scholarship close date.

 

The Wendy Boyd-Brown Scholarship

—This scholarship honors TAMS Academic Counselor Wendy Boyd-Brown, who constantly sought to bring out the best in TAMS students and to encourage them to develop themselves as complete human beings.

The TAMS Class of 1994 Scholarship

--- for a student whose application essay indicates past accomplishment and future potential.

The Class of 1996 Scholarship

--- for TAMS students who attend or attended high school in a county designated as non-metropolitan/rural by the TX Department of State Health Services—that is to say, students from rural areas and small towns.

TAMS Class of 1999 Tenacity Scholarship

— for a TAMS student who, despite a variety of challenges, has shown tenacity in remaining committed to the end goal of a quality education and success in their chosen field.

TAMS CLASS of 2000 Perseverance Scholarship

—for a TAMS student who, in the face of severe obstacles, has displayed perseverance and resilience.

TAMS Class of 2006 Scholarship

—for a TAMS student who can demonstrate in writing how a scholarship equivalent to the TAMS Program Charge would be conducive to their academic success by alleviating financial concerns. The scholarship is meant to cover the TAMS Program Charge.

Students Entering their 2nd Year at TAMS

Only TAMS students entering their second year of TAMS are eligible to apply for the following named scholarships.

—for extraordinary research in the 2023-2024 academic year

—for research acumen and advanced mathematical aptitude.

—for Students who have conducted research in the areas of engineering or computer science.

The Scott and Myra Stoll Scholarship

—for a student who has excelled in all of the opportunities available through TAMS—for example, research, academics, tutoring, volunteerism, leadership, musical performance, etc.

—recognizes leadership, and particularly for leadership and contributions to TAMS Student Life.

The Keerat Baweja Memorial Scholarship

—the scholarship memorializes a beloved daughter and sister, Keerat Baweja. Applicants must have conducted research in the areas of engineering or computer science, preferably (though not necessarily) with an interest in robotics.

The Aneal and Svetlana Krishnan Exceptional Students Scholarship

—For high-achieving, FAFSA- designated eligible for financial assistance student who has a 3.8-4.0 GPA. The application essay must indicate above-and-beyond academic (and, if pertinent, research) performance and outcome.

The Anush Reddy Beeram Memorial Scholarship

—This scholarship memorializes Anush Reddy Beeram, an exceedingly gifted and good-willed TAMS student who lifted the spirits of all with whom he came in contact and who was ever-inclined to serve persons in need. Applicants must have a 3.0-4.0 GPA; provide evidence of community-based service; and describe their commitment to pursuing a career in medicine.

Incoming TAMS Students Not Participating in Early Research

Only new incoming first year TAMS students who have been admitted and returned their Letter of Intent (LOI) prior to the scholarship close date but are not participating in the TAMS Early Summer Research Program are eligible to apply for the following named scholarships:

Early Summer Research Students

Only new incoming TAMS students who are participating in the Early Summer Research Program are eligible to apply for the following scholarship:
