2013 Application Instructions

Checklist of Requirements

Applicants must be Texas residents. Non-U.S. citizens must possess green cards or requisite Visa which qualifies students for in-state tuition.

  1. Competitive SAT 1 Reasoning test scores submitted via UNT code 6481.
  2. Download from website:
  3. Report Cards for grades 7 – 9 and copy of current 10th grade report card.
  4. Geometry, Algebra I and II completed by May 2013 and listed on your transcript.
  5. Photocopied documents retained for your records.
  6. Non-Citizen TAMS applicants are required to fill out a Residency Questionnaire.
  7. Original documents submitted by February 16, 2013 to:

    Denton, Texas  76203-5017

Once you have submitted an application, verify receipt of supporting documents by logging into the application and viewing your Status Page.

Begin the 2013 Online Application

Before you begin:

  1. Print these instructions.
  2. Check to make sure you meet all of the eligibility requirements.
  3. Collect the following information before you begin the on-line application:

    • Evaluation forms for math, science, and English teachers.
    • Evaluation form for counselor or principal.
    • Signed Security Affirmation Clearance form.
  5. Apply to the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science (2013 Application).
  6. You must collect and submit the following documents.
    • Report cards for grades 7 – 9 and copy of current 10th grade report card.
    • Geometry, Algebra I and II completed by the end of the sophmore year and listed on your transcript.
    • Competitive SAT I Reasoning test scores submitted via UNT code 6481.
    • Non-Citizen TAMS applicants are required to fill out a Residency Questionnaire.
