Summer Mathematics Institute
Registration is now open!
The Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science is pleased to sponsor the Summer Mathematics Institute (SMI) again this summer. The dates for this residential program are July 8 – 28th, 2012. SMI is an intensive mathematics program designed for highly motivated students who wish to accelerate their mathematics education. Students attend daily classes taught by certified mathematics teachers in Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II and Precalculus. Students live in a residence hall at the University of North Texas, and are supervised by experienced residence life personnel. For detailed information, please follow the SMI Program Information link below.
The SMI program uses a rolling admission policy filling spaces on a first-come, first-served basis with qualified students. Since spaces tend to fill quickly, interested students should submit their application and other required materials as soon as possible. Submission of an application does not guarantee admission to the program. Completed applications must be received in our office by no later than April 20, 2012. To download the student application which also includes the financial aid form, please follow the 2012 Student Application link below. Students should follow the 2012 Teacher Recommendation link to download the required teacher recommendation form. This form must be completed by the student’s current math teacher.
